DATE 2013 opens doors on March 18 at Alpexpo in Grenoble, France

With High-Performance Low-Power Computing and Electronic Technologies for Smart Cities, the conference program will highlight areas bringing new challenges to the system-design community as well as domains with crucial impact on the future society.

The conference will be opened by plenary keynote speakers Dr. Benedetto Vigna, Vice President of STMicroelectronics, who will give a presentation addressing ‘Smart Systems for the Internet of Things’, and prof. Massoud Pedram from the University of Southern California, who will talk on ‘Creating a Sustainable Information and Communication Infrastructure’.

DATE 2013 conference will be held in Grenoble, France at Alpexpo Conference Center and will span an entire week starting on Monday, March 18 with tutorials and ending on Friday, March 22 with workshops.

On Tuesday, March 19, Plenary Keynote Speakers are Dr. Benedetto Vigna, Vice President of STMicroelectronics who will give a presentation addressing Smart Systems for the Internet of Things, and Prof. Massoud Pedram from the University of Southern California who will talk on Creating a Sustainable Information and Communication Infrastructure.

On the same day, the Executive Track organized in three sessions will offer a series of business panels discussing hot topics.

With a technical program clearly focused on industrial and academic needs, DATE 2013 will drive again innovation in the worldwide electronics industry.

Highlight topics: High-Performance Low-Power Computing and
Electronic Technologies for Smart Cities

DATE confirms its worldwide leadership in the field of hardware and software design, test, and manufacturing of electronic circuits and systems. It received well over 1,000 submissions, representing a 6% increase over the very successful DATE 2012 edition. Erik Jan Marinissen, Principal Scientist at IMEC and DATE 2013 Program Chair adds: "The bulk of the submission growth is in our Design Track, which always has been DATE's largest track. The Americas and Asia-Pacific account for resp. 30% and 19% of our submissions, emphasizing the global nature of DATE. Currently, the submissions are in our competitive peer-review process and soon we will know which submissions have made it into the DATE program".

As DATE’s concept of choosing the European clusters Dresden (2010-2012) and Grenoble (2011) as new venues was a huge success and resulted in major growth especially in the Exhibition (1,400 experts to the conference and more than 800 exhibition visitors at DATE 2012!), the conference comes back to Grenoble for DATE 2013.
