IMEC advances state-of-the-art design: Designing in advanced process technology becomes a huge challenge. IMEC’s process & design technology brings industry up to speed to design in the newest technologies. 3D design allows companies to offer superior features and performance in their products. IMEC’s 3D integration program develops 3D design methodology that provides accurate performance/power/cost estimates for 3D stacked ICs. This allows designers to evaluate and optimize their system and architecture to best exploit 3D technology options; and silicon process engineers can fine-tune their technology to the system architecture specs.
IMEC’s technology-aware design research pursues analysis & design solutions for sub-32nm scaling-induced problems that can be compensated on system level. The focus is on variability- & reliability-aware modeling and coping with their effects at system level.
