Austrian Research Centers-ARC - the future Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) - is Austria’s largest contract-oriented, applied research organization. Its five strategic departments Safety & Security, Health and Environment, Mobility, Energy, Foresight and Policy Development perform domain specific as well as interdisciplinary applied research in co-operation with industry, universities on national as well as European and international level with a scientific staff of about 950 on 10 sites.
Among other technologies the department Safety & Security focuses on embedded real-time software and systems technology and tools relevant for control system architectures, embedded vision systems, validation and evaluation in automotive, railway, industrial control, robotics and aerospace applications. Other fields of expertise of the department are High-performance Image Processing, Video and Security Technologies, Quantum Technologies, Neuroinformatics, Information Management and eHealth.
