Friday Workshops
Chair:

The DATE Friday Workshops initiative was first introduced in 2003 and, since then, the workshops topics and participation have increased to over 250 researchers and designers attending eight workshops at DATE 08. This initiative has now become an integral part of the conference, offering workshops on current and emerging important issues in design, test, EDA and software to complement the regular conference programme running throughout the week. They provide a unique opportunity for the various research and design communities to spend a day discussing the latest and the best, sharing their experiences and visions.
This year’s program again includes eight workshop themes. Four workshops are related to architecture and technology, ranging from network-on-chip (NOC), multi/many cores, 3D technology and ultra low-power systems. Four other workshop themes cover a variety of topics in design and design tools including the impact of process variations on design and test, system-level synthesis, globally asynchronous and locally synchronous systems (GALS) and software for embedded systems.
Friday Workshop attendees should choose in advance one of W1, W2, W3, W4, W5, W6, W7 or W8. The Friday Workshops run from 0830 in the morning until 1630 in the afternoon. The individual timetables for each Friday Workshop vary and are as listed below.
| W1 | Software and Compilers for Embedded Systems (SCOPES’09) | 08:20 -16:30 |
| W2 | Process Variability: New Techniques for the Design and Test of Nanoscale Electronics | 08:45 -16:30 |
| W3 | The Future of ESL Synthesis | 09:00 -16:30 |
| W4 | Diagnostic Services in Network-on-Chips (DSNOC’09) | 08:30 -17:00 |
| W5 | 3D Integration – Technology, Architecture, Design, Automation and Test | 08:30 -16:00 |
